Community Spirit with A Swing: Ellis & Co Annual Golf Day 2025

What a truly spectacular day we had on the 10th of July 2025 at the Ellis & Co Annual Golf Day 2025, held at the Pryors Hayes Golf Course in Chester! 

The sun was shining, the greens were pristine and the atmosphere was absolutely electric as we welcomed a fantastic array of individuals for an afternoon of golf, camaraderie and giving back.

Throughout the day, the air was filled with the cheerful sounds of our Texas Scramble, a format that truly encourages teamwork and a bit of friendly competition. While our directors, John Farrell and James Ellis, might not have claimed the top spot with their respective teams this year, their spirits were high.

John remarked, “It was a brilliant day out, fantastic to see so many familiar faces and catch up with everyone. The golf was secondary to the great company!” James echoed the sentiment, adding, “Even though our swings weren’t quite championship-winning this year, the enjoyment of the day and the connections made were definitely a win for us. A superb event all around!”

Making sure everything ran smoothly from the moment guests arrived was Lyndsey Ellis, our director’s personal assistant, who expertly manned the front desk with her usual warm welcome and tailored gift bags that included refreshments, Ellis & Co golf balls and our very useful 2025/26 tax card.

Driving for a Cause: Supporting The Hospice of The Good Shepherd

Beyond the golf itself, a significant part of our day was dedicated to a cause very close to our hearts: The Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Here, we were delighted to have Justin Caroe and Toni Waters from the Hospice join us!

Toni, in particular, was a superstar as she drove around in a buggy to keep everyone hydrated with Peroni beer and water. Not only was she ensuring everyone stayed cool on what turned out to be a very warm day, but every sale contributed directly to the Hospice’s invaluable work. It’s truly inspiring to see the community come together to support such a vital local charity.

Cheers to the Champions and a Grand Finale!

As the last putts were sunk, the day culminated in a wonderful evening of celebration. Guests gathered for a fantastic dinner, followed by the eagerly anticipated award ceremony. Congratulations were certainly in order for the top three teams, but the loudest cheers were reserved for our overall winners: Andy Rolfe, Mike Forster and Fraser Crewe, who received the well-deserved winner’s prize of champagne! Cheers to you, Andy and team!

The evening rounded off with a charity collection and a lively raffle, further boosting the funds raised for The Hospice of The Good Shepherd. It was heartwarming to see such generosity and enthusiasm from everyone present.

At the end of the day, we extend our sincerest thanks to all the companies, teams and individuals who joined us and made the Ellis & Co Annual Golf Day 2025 such a resounding success. Events like these truly highlight the strong, vibrant community we are so proud to be a part of, and it’s making us already look forward to next year’s event!
