Reminder: Tax Payments due January 2012

It's that time of year when you need to be thinking about the tax which is due for payment at the end of January 2012.  For those clients who have their tax returns completed by Ellis & Co, HM Revenue & Customs will normally issue either a notice to pay or a statement attached to which is a payslip which you should use to settle your liability.

Whilst the Revenue would prefer all taxpayers to pay electronically as this avoids any cheques being lost in the post, if you wish to pay by cheque but do not receive a payslip or reminder, or this is mislaid amongst the vast amount of paper that the Christmas season generates, the link below will allow you to generate your own payslip which can then be sent with your cheque to the Revenue and avoid a charge to interest (as long as the cheque is cleared by 31 January 2012).

You will need your Unique Taxpayer reference number (UTR) which is the 10 digit reference number quoted on all correspondence from the Revenue.
