Ellis & Co has launched a payroll and auto-enrolment service to support small businesses by taking over their auto-enrolment management duties for them.

The move will help clients by freeing up their time while ensuring they avoid incurring penalties by complying with all their employer auto-enrolment duties.

Ellis & Co has access to key payroll and auto enrolment software that can automatically complete employer admin tasks on time.

The software takes care of duties ranging from processing pensions contributions to carrying out mandatory reporting to HMRC.

The payroll software also allows employers to view payslips, P60s and other necessary documents online and helps clients prepare for their staging dates.

Throughout 2015, The Pensions Regulator will write to more than 1.5 million businesses as part of a campaign to raise awareness about auto-enrolment and employer duties.

The campaign aims to ensure that every employer will at least be made aware of their staging date.

Peter Way-Rider, Tax Manager at Ellis & Co, said: “I would urge anyone wanting to outsource their auto-enrolment managerial duties to contact me so that I can discuss with you the package that we have to offer and the support we have available.

“We want to make life as easy as possible for our clients and the transition to auto-enrolment a seamless one.

“With the software that we have available we can customise an employer’s needs and ensure all the necessary HMRC deadlines are met.”

Ellis & Co uses Sage software to look after employers auto enrolment needs.

The software is HMRC recognised and RTI submission compatible and is capable of producing customised pension reports.

It is crucial that employers plan for auto-enrolment to avoid incurring fines.

The Pensions Regulator continues to enforce fines and auto-enrolment penalties for non-compliance ranging from £50 to £10,000 depending on how many employees a company has.

Non-compliance fines range from £1,000 to £5,000 and civil penalties range from £5,000 to £50,000.

In 2014, The Pensions Regulator fined 169 employers for failing to comply.
