Ellis & Co’s John Farrell was part of a team advising ambitious, growing businesses at the West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce’s first Business Growth event last month.

The event, which focused on business finance, was held in conjunction with The University of Chester, Business Wales and Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Business Growth Team at Thornton Science Park.

It was the first of three Growth Events aimed at businesses with ambitions to grow, with each event having a specific theme. Attendees came away with a broad range of knowledge as well as practical skills to take away and incorporate into their own businesses.

John was joined at the event by Sarah Bailey of Natwest Business Banking, Andy Jones of Merseyside Special Investment Fund and Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Tony Clark.

John, who provided attendees with a multitude of accountancy advice and tips to apply to their businesses, said: “It was a great turnout for the first growth event.

“I really enjoyed being a panellist, giving tips on how businesses can grow and move to the next level.

“I’m looking forward to supporting this newly-formed group over the coming months and to helping Chamber members and their businesses fulfil their growth potential.”

Debbie Stokes, Membership Director at the Chamber, said: “Today’s speakers have been wonderful and shed so much light on Finance and many other topics as a whole.

“I am confident that everyone who attended gained excellent advice and knowledge which they can take away with them and incorporate into their own businesses, helping them grow and prosper in turn.”
