Arranging your new mortgage, hiring removal vans, sorting the attic and packing up your worldly goods.

If only there was a business that offered a change of address service… for free!

iammoving.com is an online change of address service that deals with everyone you will need to notify when moving house from your mobile phone provider to your local council, TV Licensing and British Gas.

“We transfer billing and other service relationships via a secure online web service for home-movers, as well as software for Letting Agents to manage change of tenancy billing transfers and void periods,” said Eileen Rutschmann, CEO of iammoving.com.

Eileen became involved with iammoving.com as a private angel investor, taking over the business in 2006.

“It’s been one of the most fantastic and challenging enterprises I have ever engaged in,” said Eileen.

“The business is extremely complex with many diverse components, yet the challenge is to ensure it is as simple and friendly to use a possible.”

Today Eileen is joined by a team of 20 from her head office in Chester.

“We are pioneers in what we do, I am fortunate to have some of the most talented, dedicated and loyal people working for us.”

The online service is simple - home-movers enter their old address and new address once and then select the organisations they want to notify of their move. Similar for Letting Agents processing change of tenancies.

iammoving.com’s notifications are accepted by more than 1,500 organisations including Scottish Power, Water companies, Sky, Nectar, Boots and charitable organisations.

“The majority accept the notifications electronically but some still require signatures such as Financial Services organisations which is for the customer’s security, but we are working hard to convert these companies,” said Eileen.

In addition, iammoving.com provides a concierge of services for home-movers helping them set-up cheaper energy suppliers in their new home, choosing the best broadband, pay TV, home phone provider and home-insurance policy that suits their need.

“We make a small referral fee from all of our add-on services, that is how we can offer our change of address service for free,” said Eileen.

“The most challenging part of the job is keeping on top of regulation and compliance, as well as ensuring we are always ahead of the curve.”

Luckily for Eileen ensuring her tax and accounting figures are up to date isn’t something she has to worry about.
