Will you be joining thousands of people across the UK by submitting your tax return this Christmas?
Last year's figures shown that 24,546 people submitted their tax return online on New Year’s Eve.*
More than 11,000 people submitted their return on New Year’s Day and 2,044 on Christmas Day.
“Christmas is the time of year most of us get some time off, so this is why so many people are submitting their returns over that period,” said Peter Way-Rider, Tax Manager at Ellis & Co.
“Christmas will be come and gone before we know it, and the deadline for submitting 2016-17 tax returns, and paying any tax owed is looming.
“You must ensure your return is filed with HMRC by January 31, 2018, if not there is an immediate £100 penalty, and additional penalties will be imposed for further delays.”
