With hundreds of projects under its belt it’s fair to say that specialist construction company Goldcrest Developments NW Ltd is going from strength to strength.
The family run company, which has recently celebrated its 15th birthday, covers both interior and external fit-outs encompassing all civil engineering disciplines.
Its portfolio is impressive with projects ranging from small renovations of commercial buildings including schools shops and churches; to full demolishment and rebuild developments.
We caught up with Jessica Hagan, Procurement and Marketing, to find out what a typical day at Goldcrest entailed.
“Every single day is different, entirely depending on whatever support our team requires and where we’re up to with ongoing projects,” said Jessica.
“I can be doing anything from office admin, pricing for jobs and marketing exercises, to being on the road collecting and delivering materials.”
Goldcrest is made up of owners Ali and Nigel Littler, a team of highly skilled labourers and tradesman, plus three office based staff and the team dog – Gracie!
The company provides high quality bespoke construction, including masonry and joinery work; the quality of Goldcrest’s workmanship is such that they enjoy a prestigious client list from both public and private funding initiatives.
“One of the main aspects of the business I find very satisfying is the ability to oversee a project from the very start to completion,” said Jessica.
“To envisage how a project will look, and have it materialise into something the client is really happy with is fantastic.”
Jessica, and the team face multiple challenges on a daily basis – from clients changing specifications to delays from suppliers and even the weather.
However the team always remain positive and have a ‘can-do attitude’ regardless of any issues.
Goldcrest has multiple new projects in the pipeline; ranging from new build residential developments in Derbyshire and Cheshire to factory refurbishments on business parks in Manchester.
“Brookfield House is our most recent completed project and arguably the most memorable for me,” said Jessica.
“It was a country house restoration, with a partial new build and barn conversion.
“The vast difference between what was there and what we have achieved, and the high standard it’s been completed to, makes it a project we’re incredibly proud of,” she added.
One thing Goldcrest doesn’t have to worry about is its accountants which are looked after by the team at Ellis & Co.
“Ellis & Co were introduced to us by our bank and came highly recommended,” said Jessica.
“We have found the team, especially John Farrell (who mainly deals with us), Peter Way-Rider, Zoe Horswill and of course Robert Ellis to be outstanding in their knowledge.
“They provide an efficient, friendly and trustworthy service and Goldcrest too would also highly recommend the company.”
