Organisers of the West Cheshire Women’s Network are gearing up for another event next month.
Laura Garner will be the guest speaker at the women's networking event on Thursday, September 6.
After starting life as a fashion journalist and stylist in the leading titles in London and Sydney, including Vogue Australia, Laura returned to her home of Chester to pursue her dream of becoming a news journalist.
After countless stories from murders, raids and burglaries, she landed on one of her biggest stories to date, her own journey to Afghanistan.
After being bombed (twice) and almost killed inside Kandahar, Laura had many stories to share of the heroes she met along the way.
Founded in 2013, West Cheshire Women’s Network provides an opportunity for businesswomen to come together.
Co-hosted by Natwest PLC, Ellis & Co Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce and Cheshire West and Chester Council; the group meet four times a year with a different guest speaker at every event.
Today Laura is a business owner, journalist and mother, and has earned a reputation for delivering a successful mix of communications, specialising in media, PR and digital.
With a strong team of talented freelancing women and mothers around her, Laura is still here to tell the tale and is ‘thrilled’ to be able to share her story.
The event to be held on Thursday, September 6, will begin at 9.30am; attendees will be greeted with a selection of tea, coffees, pastries and cakes; it is then time to network before our speaker brings the morning to a close at around 11.30am.
Spaces for this event, to be held at the Holiday Inn Chester South are limited so booking is essential.
