Employees from Cheshire and Warrington can access 100% or 40% funding to go towards a high-quality online skills training.

Accelerate Cheshire and Warrington is a £30M programme that has been designed to support businesses to reskill and upskill their current workforce.

The programme is in partnership with the University of Chester, Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership and is partly funded by the European Social Fund.

Every business needs to be at the forefront of talent development to increase productivity, take advantage of new technologies and remain competitive – especially during these challenging times.

There is a wide range of training on offer that can specifically help individual businesses needs and goals and these can be identified through the help of one of Accelerate’s Skills Brokers.

100% funding is available for employees who live or work in Cheshire and Warrington for a company with less than 50 people and 40% funding if they work for a company with over 50 people.

Courses that have been procured include:

  • Website Design & SEO Optimisation
  • Managing Multiple Priorities
  • New Generation Business Strategy Training
  • Project Management (Prince 2)
  • CAD & SolidWorks
  • IOSH & ISO training and more...

One of the courses providers is Kathryn Eade from Up+thrive.

“I’m thrilled that Up+thrive is working as a preferred partner for the Accelerate Programme,” said Kathryn.

“We have already been able to provide the resource to help a number of businesses across Cheshire and Warrington to upskill and reskill their staff, and hope to support many more over the duration of the project.”

A company to recently complete Website Design & SEO optimisation training through Accelerate is The Real Thing, a Cheshire family business with shops in Sandbach and Nantwich, and an expanding online shop.

Given the current circumstances they were keen to develop their online presence. They used the course to understand and develop their website to best effect.

Josie Robinson, founder of The Real Thing added: “A fantastic course which I would highly recommend!

“Both course navigators were friendly and clear with easy to follow instructions.

“I really enjoyed learning new things & have already started to see the benefit for my business.”
